My courses within the English department and Core program focus on connecting literature with issues related to diversity and feature multicultural and transnational voices ranging from Asian American writers like Hisaye Yamamoto and Gish Jen to authors whose narratives straddle and blur national boundaries, including Junot Diaz, Hanan Al-Shaykh, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

In addition to courses about race, nation, ethnicity, and gender, I have also taught classes featuring Children’s and Young Adult Literature, as well as courses using television series as main texts of inquiry.
