Sigrira Perret-Gentil received her MFA in Photography from Georgia State University in 2003 and a BA in Psychology from Emory University in 1996. She grew up in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, and at age twelve moved to the American South with her family. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamentu.
Sigrira has been actively exhibiting her work nationally and locally. In 2014 she had a piece in Art Takes Miami, at Art Basel Miami. In 2009, she was included in the International Exhibit on Animals in Art at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA with the image below which is titled “Bianca receiving her yogurt treat.” The same piece was additionally exhibited during 219 The Show at Fine Line Gallery in Atlanta, GA. Her work was also selected to be a part of the Herding Cats exhibition at The Brush Art Gallery in Lowell, MA.

Sigrira is currently working on a series about Interspecies Parenthood.
